GitHub, GitLab & MergeGuardAgent pricing FAQ
Are plan limits per account?
Yes. Monthly AI review limits are per MergeGuard account (one workspace). A Pro subscription means 300 reviews/month total across GitHub, GitLab, and MergeGuardAgent—not per platform. Repository connections are unlimited on all linked plans; guest GitHub App installs (no sign-in) can use up to 5 repos on the same monthly quota.
How do I use GitHub and GitLab on the same team account?
Sign in once to create your workspace, then stay on that same MergeGuard session. From the dashboard, use Connect GitHub or Connect GitLab to add the other provider—do not sign out and create a second account. Both platforms share one plan and one monthly review quota.
Is there a free plan for GitHub, GitLab, or MergeGuardAgent?
Yes. The Free plan per account includes unlimited repository connections and 20 AI reviews per UTC month. Guest GitHub App installs (no sign-in) can review up to 5 repos with the same monthly quota. Pull requests, merge requests, and MergeGuardAgent reviews share that quota. Inline review and @mergeguards fix are included on eligible findings.
What counts as an AI review?
Each automated MergeGuard review run counts toward your account’s monthly limit: a GitHub pull request, a GitLab merge request, or a Review Current File / Review Git Diff from the MergeGuardAgent extension. Follow-up scans (@mergeguard-followup) and deep-scan use your plan allowances.
Do GitHub, GitLab, and MergeGuardAgent share one quota?
Yes, on the same MergeGuard account. One login and plan covers GitHub PRs, GitLab MRs, and MergeGuardAgent editor reviews. Your monthly limit applies across all platforms on that workspace.
Do limits reset every month?
Yes. Review quotas reset at the start of each UTC calendar month on all plans.
One MergeGuard account = one workspace
Repo and review limits apply to your MergeGuard login, not per GitHub org or GitLab group. After your first provider is connected, add the second from the dashboard while signed in as the same user—signing out and registering again creates a separate account with its own limits and billing.
- Step 1
Sign in once
Create your MergeGuard account with GitHub or GitLab—this creates one workspace for billing and usage.
- Step 2
Stay signed in
Do not sign out or register again. Open the dashboard while still logged in as the same user.
- Step 3
Connect the other provider
Use Connect GitHub or Connect GitLab on the dashboard to attach the second platform to the same workspace.
Need both platforms? See GitHub quickstart and GitLab quickstart.
